A few months ago, I shared a Spring Makeup look and I was truly surprised it was well received. It remains one of my most popular posts to date! So, this week I thought I’d share my Go to Summer Makeup. I’m not gonna lie, I don’t usually wear makeup in the summer, especially day to day. The Texas heat and humidity are much too brutal and tend to melt makeup off anyways. But when I do throw on a little something for the occasional special event this is my go-to. There are a few more steps to this look than my last look, but I am in love with the results! It’s a look with light orangey browns and yellow. A friend once described it as a grungy, boho look and I didn’t mind it!
I use two eyeshadow palettes for this look: the City Mini Palette in and Persona Cosmetics Color Theory Eye Kit in Copper. I love Persona Cosmetics! Sona Gasparian, the founder of Persona Cosmetics, was the first beauty blogger I started watching on YouTube several years back. When she announced the launch of her brand I was beyond excited! I’ve purchased several of their products and the quality of their makeup is amazing! I have been a dedicated fan ever since.
Starting with the City Mini Palette I applied the lightest shadow with a large fluffy eyeshadow brush. Next, I jumped over to the Copper palette. I dipped into the shade Light Brown and applied it to my crease with a large fluffy crease brush. After diffusing that out toward my brow bone, I used a smaller fluffy crease brush to apply the orangey brown shadow from the City Mini tightly in my crease. Then, using the same brush I applied Dark Brown from the Copper palette to the outer v of my eyes. Next, I grabbed a packing brush, picked up the yellow shade from the City Mini and applied it all over my eyelid. It took a bit of time to really build that color up then softly blend. For my eyeliner I took an eyeliner brush and dipped into the burgundy shade in the City Mini.
On my lower lash line, I used a smudger brush to apply Light Brown from the Copper Palette and the orangey brown shade from the City Mini. Then, I took a small pencil brush and applied the burgundy shade closely to my lower lash line. Last, with a super small smudger brush I applied Off White from the Copper palette for my inner corner highlight.
To finish off the look I applied the Persona Cosmetics Eyeliner in the shade Brown (it comes with the Eye Kit) to my water line and added black mascara. There you have it!
