I thought it would be a good idea to meet our new neighbors and the best way to do that is to knock on their doors and offer baked goods. So, this week I’m sharing my go to brownie recipe. Now I’ve tried many brownie recipes over the years and this one remains my favorite. I have never been a big chocolate person, but I love brownies! This recipe isn’t too fudgy or too cakey. In my opinion, it is the perfect balance.
Now the measurements are kind of weird on this recipe, but they work! When I have tried other recipes, I seem to get mostly get a hit or miss. There have been several recipes that I’ve tried, and it turned out great one time, awful another, great again, awful and so on. This recipe has never failed me! When I have shared these brownies family and friends, they have always loved these brownies! I’ve even had people ask for the recipe.
Unfortunately, I’m still trying to learn my oven. Before we purchased the house, our inspector told us it runs a little hot and up to this point that has seemed to ring true. Instead of putting bread sticks in for 7 minutes I’ve been putting them for 4 and cookies 10 minutes instead of 18. But oddly enough, I with the brownies I ended up leaving them in there for 35 minutes instead of 25. I guess that’s what happens when your oven is older than you! Oh well, I’ll learn all its’ quirks eventually.
Brownies are great all year round in my opinion. Not only that, but most people seem to enjoy a simple brownie! You can eat them room temperature, you can eat them warm or you can even add a nice big scoop of ice cream on top! HEB’s Vanilla Bean is my favorite. Especially when you’ve warmed up the brownie and the ice cream starts to melt into the brownie. Mm so good! Hope you enjoy as much as I have!
I just realized I didn’t take a picture of the finished brownies and I already gave them to our neighbors😒 Oh well…just know they looked amazing!
